Property Details
The property is a Grade II listed late 16th Century Medieval long house of great historic and architectural value that was sympathetically restored in the early 1980’s. The house retains many of its original and unique features which include a stunning chamfered oak plank and muntin partition with original carpenters marks, a now redundant original cruck truss, a large open fire place with a deep timber lintel over and pyramidal stop chamfered ceiling beams. The house is situated in open countryside and stands in its own land of about 5 acres with an attractive stream running through, just at the foot of the Black Mountains amid superb Brecon Beacons National Park scenery.
The near by village of Llanigon, about 1½ miles south west of Hay-on-Wye, offers a popular village primary school and associated village hall. It also has a church and sits on the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park amidst superb scenery. The Market town of Hay-on-Wye offers a good wide range of local amenities, coupled with the famous second hand bookshops and antique shops.
