Meet our Staff

Mr Glyn Owens - Auctioneer Glyn worked in Hereford, Brecon and Bromyard before joining McCartneys in 1984. He is responsible for running the market and the agricultural department in Knighton. Glyn is an Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, an Fellow of the Association of Auctioneers and Valuers and a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers.

Miss Jenny Layton - Auctioneer Jenny Layton BSc (Hons) MRICS FAAV has worked for McCartneys in their Knighton office and market since 1999. She studied and gained a 2:1 honours degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University College prior to this. Since joining McCartneys she has become a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers. As well as conducting weekly auctions of finished sheep and fortnightly auctions of store cattle, Jenny is also well qualified to deal with professional work on behalf of landowners and tenants. She specialises in Farm Business Tenancy Agreements as well as compulsory purchase and compensation work. All types of valuations are undertaken, as well as property and land sales. Farm diversification and grant funding is also completed as well as all aspects of farm business management and planning.
