From 2005, Defra will be introducing Environmental Stewardship (ES) which will replace the existing arrangements for agri-environment schemes (Countryside Stewardship, ESAs and Organic Farming). ES will be comprised of three components:-
1) Entry Level Stewardship
2) Organic Entry Level Stewardship
3) Higher Level Stewardship

McCartneys were privileged to offer the largest yard full of cattle at Brecon for several years. It was felt following foot & mouth that a 1000 cattle would never be seen at Brecon store sales, however on Friday a tremendous show of 1048 cattle were sold through the ring and a trade which exceeded everyone’s expectations. The Building Societies & Banks run off figures how property prices have dropped in the last 2 months and how unsustainable it all is.
