A substantial increase in the number of prime cattle sold by auctioneers McCartneys in 2006 lifted throughput to 41,150 head – a rise of over 7000 animals compared with the previous year.

The seventh Annual Sale held at Brecon on behalf of Welsh Borders Select Texel Breeders sold to a keen and buoyant demand from the very start, when Lot 1, an In lamb Gimmer from Avril Evans' Raglan flock peaked at 1350gns to DC Meek, Nantyffyllon, Maesteg. The group 1 yearling was a daughter of Knock Impulse and was scanned in lamb to Annan Lionheart sold for 16,000gns. Read more...
