McCartneys recently held the first of their seasonal ewe sales at Ludlow market in conjunction with the fortnightly sale of beef stores, breeding stock and feeding lambs.
The class for the best pen of 10 or more breeding ewes was won by Worcestershire farmer Henry Jones.
The Suffolk x North Country Mule yearling ewes made £82.00 a piece and at the fall of the hammer found a new home in Herefordshire.
Another pen of yearling ewes sold by Mr. Jones the same day realised £86.00 each.
