An excellent entry of feeding lambs and breeding ewes, were present last Saturday, at McCartneys sale yard The Three Horse Shoes, Wheathill, Burwarton, Bridgnorth.
A particular feature in the sale, was the presentation of the Pete Seabury trophy for the best pen of lambs in the yard. This perpetual trophy, now in its third year, is presented annually, in memory of the late Mr. Seabury, who was a regular buyer of store lambs for many years at the Three Horse Shoes.
The winner this year, was Mr. Keith Bowen from Hopton Bank, whose pen of Suffolk cross Welsh Mule lambs made £44.80p a piece. They were purchased by a Bridgnorth buyer.
Pictured l-r. Keith Bowen, winner of the Champion Trophy poses for the camera, with his son, Ieuan, (whose great grandfather, the late Norman Broome also sold at the sale yard.) Presenting the trophy is Mr. Clive Seabury.
