McCartneys recently held their 2004 Christmas Primestock Show and sale at Ludlow Livestock Market.
An excellent entry of show cattle and lambs were forward. The Champion beast owned by Colin & Wendy Phillips, The Batch, Weobley, was a Limousin x Belgian Blue Steer weighing in at 570 kgs. At the fall of the hammer it made 180p and was purchased by Ms. Woodhead Brothers, Lancashire. It is the third year running that the Herefordshire farming partnership have won the Championship Cattle Trophy.
The Lloyds Bank Trophy for the champion pen of lambs was won for the sixth year running by Marston Court Farms, Pembridge.
The lambs weighed 45 1/2 kilos, made 180p and were purchased by A. C. Hunt, Birmingham
