And so it continues…..Basic Payment Scheme Update 2015

Thu 16 April 2015

Following the RPA’s announcement, on 19th March, that the Rural Payments online system will no longer be used to claim Basic Payment this year, we will now be reverting back to paper forms for 2015 in ENGLAND.

McCartneys and South Shropshire National Farmers Union will be holding another joint meeting on 22nd April at Ludlow Livestock Market to update farmers of these changes in their entirety.

Key information changes to note:

•No claims will be submitted online for 2015

•However, you must still have registered on the new online system in order to claim BPS. If you have not registered you cannot claim BPS 2015

•Prepopulated BP5 forms will be sent out (via email where possible) during April

•Submission deadline has changed - 15th June is the new 15th May for 2015 (England ONLY)

•Entitlements can now be transferred by using a RLE1 paper form but must be done so by 15th June deadline

•ELS/UELS/OELS/HLS claim forms must be submitted by 15th June

The aim of this meeting is to update farmers and landowners of the changes that have taken place over the last few weeks, so that they will be in a better position to apply for Basic Payment in 2015. The meeting will run from 2 to 4pm and presentations will be given on the Basic Payment Scheme and the scrapping of the online claiming process for 2015. There will also be a question and answer session from the audience, answered by representatives from McCartneys LLP, National Farmers Union and the Rural Payments Agency.

The last meeting and update was extremely well received by the audience and delivered an up to date account of the new Basic Payment Scheme claiming process.
