505 PRIME LAMBS
A much better entry on the week in terms of numbers forward and general quality. The show of lambs at Brecon is a credit to Vendors. The best lambs reached £95.76 and £200ppk with well fleshed continental lambs again at a marked premium. The export quality lambs are bound to meet a stronger demand going forward with sterling at its unprecedented low ebb against the Euro The handy weight lambs forward were also better sold on the week and there is an outlook for an improving demand for light and medium weight lambs going forward. The new section for light lambs with separate penning within the yard will commence next week improved buyer support indicated for this section. It is likely that the main prime lamb section will also benefit from this improved buyer attendance and a larger entry next week would be greatly appreciated. The SQQ average of £180ppk and the overall average of 175ppk, was again well ahead of the HCC National Average for Tuesday.
