What an entry of spring lambs this week, which was pleasing considering the weather we’ve had. We had one or two lambs in pens which were not quite ready, and would have benefitted from a little longer. The trade was a little sticky but we still had plenty of pens over 300p/kg, but looking back to last year we averaged 225p/kg; so a great improvement. Topping at 326p/kg was PJ & TA Jones, Tyisaf. The mediums averaged 303p/kg and smaller lambs at 298.78p/kg. We are beginning to need a lot more spring lambs every week, as buyers are asking for them.
