Brecon Fatstock Sale Report 24th April 2018

A much reduced entry this week, selling to an improved trade. An excellent show of quality, and with the smaller entry forward this is certainly a sign of the hoggets drying up. Topping at 254.5p/kg was TH Jones for the 2nd week running. The lighter hoggs were much more in demand averaging 220.6p/kg and the over 45kg at 241.3p/kg. Meat is key to achieve the best possible prices. We still do require more hoggets.
