Buying a Property in Presteigne

Mon 14 May 2012

Some time ago Presteigne was voted within the top 10 best small towns to live in with the UK by Country Life.

More recently Arlene Phillips (choreographer and broadcaster) wrote a great glowing article for the Sunday Telegraph outlining her special thoughts for this pretty, historic little town.

In this lady’s words “the perfect space to escape from it all.” Once the County town of Radnorshire it has been voted one of Britain’s top ten little towns. Every year Presteigne plays host the wonderful Festival of Music and Arts.

Set close to Offas Dyke there are some excellent hill walks across dramatic and undulating countryside. The town itself benefits from some lovely shops which are independently run offering a wide range of fresh and often local produced goods. There are also plenty of places to eat in and around Presteigne from pretty tea rooms to a Michelin Star restaurant. The Judges Lodgings is also well worth a visit, a local museum which it is an old court house, you can wander down into the basement and see the cells. It’s all very strange and slightly spooky!

For somebody who is looking for peace and tranquillity this is the perfect place to consider, yet within easy striking distance of the larger neighbouring towns and cities.

Visitors to Presteigne who often choose to settle here regularly comment on the friendliness of this pretty market town and the depth of facilities and amenities to be found there.
