Confirmation Obtained That Prior Approval Is Not Required for an Agricultural Building

Thu 9 May 2019

McCartneys Planning and Survey department have received confirmation that prior approval is not required following the submission of an application under the Prior Notification of an agricultural building policy.

The clients required an additional building for storage on an expanding farm.  The applicants looked to utilise the new Permitted Development Rights For Agriculture And Forestry, brought in during 2018, which allows an agricultural building of up to 1000m2, provided other criteria is met. The application was successful for a 975m2 building, utilising nearly all of the allowance.

The proposed building met all the criteria as set out by the Prior Notification requirements and as a result confirmation was contained within the 28 days of which the local authorities are required to reply.

The application was undertaken and submitted to the council by Lewis working from the Kington Office of McCartneys. If you have any projects which you would like to discuss further contact Lewis Price on 01544 230 316 or lewis.price@mccartneys.co.uk.
