Country Property with Land

A rather strange and unpredictable property market at the present time. The bottom end of the market has become difficult mainly due to the fact that obtaining a mortgage is now extremely onerous and protracted. The applicants are having to jump through hoops to obtain finance with applications/interviews which used to take less than an hour can now run for up to three and half hours. The processing is also taking longer with the effect knocking on from first time buyers to second time buyers and then up the chain.

However, on a better note we have had some very nice country houses placed on the market in the last month, one of them being a lovely country property (shown above) set in nearly four acres overlooking the River Teme. This property was the home of Richard Thorp, the well-known actor of Emmerdale and Dambusters. Other new instructions worthy of note, a lovely 22 acre equestrian holding on the outskirts of Presteigne priced at £750,000, a new build at Discoed which is situated between Knighton and Presteigne at a price of £495,000 and a superb country retreat located up the Teme Valley which comprises of three properties set in 22 acres and having a guide price of £620,000.

There appears to be great interest and confidence in country property’s with land at the present time. Long may it continue!
