Thu 14 March 2013

McCartney’s first evening sale of Fine Art & General Effects recently held attracted a large crowd and an increased amount of buyers on the internet for their monthly sale. There was a real ‘buzz’ in the saleroom as it all got underway.

An excellent collection of 500+ lots were entered with some interesting and diverse artefacts and curios.
The top selling lot reached £9,800 for an excellent quality 18th century cabinet inlaid with Tortoiseshell and Ivory. Bidding in the auction room took the item to £5,500 and the internet bidding commenced which resulted in the lot selling for £9,800.

We also had five silver Trefid spoons dated 1697 and 1709 which far exceeded their guides fetching £1,000
The sale which commenced at 5.00pm was concluded by 8.45pm allowing purchaser’s good time in which to collect there lots and return home at a relatively sensible time.

Entries are now being taken for our next evening sale on April 18th at 5.00pm.
