Fine Art, Antique and General Sale Report - Thursday 18th January 2018

 A new year and a new start time of 1.00pm proved popular with over 100 people in the room.

A typical January auction with some great lots on offer and something for everyone.

The usual large array of boxes of miscellaneous items sold well from £10.00 to £150.00.

The top price was for Lot 189 – am mahogany 8 day longcase clock which sold for £900.00.

Other noteable lots included:-

  • Lot 293 – 19th century cuckoo clock £520.00
  • Lot 181 – 19th century joined oak dresser £350.00
  • Lot 130A – cased Negretti & Zambra barograph £380.00
  • Lot 158 – 19th century King pattern brass corkscrew £250.00
  • Lot 233 – George III mahogany side table £280.00
  • Lot 303 – 17/18th century oak cupboard £240.00
  • Lot 330 – Blue ground eastern silk rug £240.00
  • Lot 284 – pair of 20th century walnut armchairs (French style) £220.00
  • Lot 151 – Indian marble & petra-dura chess board £220.00

The sale produced a 94.6% clearance of lots offered.
