Fine Art, Antique and General Sale Report - Thursday 21st January 2016

Thu 21 January 2016

January can be a difficult month. Not much cash about, credit card bills to pay!
NOT in evidence at the January sale – lots of buyers and an excellent trade throughout.

The portcullis monthly sales remain as one of the most competitive in terms of commission in the area. House clearances are the mainstay of our sales and bring with them a huge variety of lots with no reserves.
Furniture sold up to £500.00 for a Victorian pine dresser. Generally good quality furniture mainly oak sold from £240.00 - £500.00.
Misc. boxes sold well from £25.00 - £400.00. These make up one third of the sale and form an important part.
We look forward to our next auction on 18th February. Don’t forget to pre-enter your lots.

Above lot photos have sold prices as follows -

Lot 76 - £320.00

Lot 114 - £190.00

Lot 270 - £250.00

Lot 339 - £270.00

Phillip Blackman-Howard - Auctioneer and Head of the Portcullis Department.
