McCartneys of Ludlow are very pleased to report that their extra December 4th Antique and Collectables sale was a huge success with both high attendance in the room and on the internet.
A particularly good clearance from Peterchurch resulted in very good and varied lots being offered under the hammer. Kitchenalia proved in demand with a collection of ceramic and copper jelly moulds to include a Shelley armadillo and castle copper moulds realising £260, copper pans and lids £180 and a collection of ginger jars £230. Four Turkish candlesticks realised £170.
Militaria from a single owner collection sold well with a cased set of Royal Bucks epaulettes realising £105 and South African and Egypt medals finally going under the hammer at £700 after much interest in the room and on the internet.
As expected at this festive time of year, silver realised good prices with a single owner collection of cigarette cases totalling £455 and a challenge cup trophy £400.
Furniture sold well with a good oak crossbanded with mahogany dresser realising £800, a pair of button back armchairs £160 and a good gothic style bedroom suite made £240.
