High Demand from Buyers - Now Is the Time to Sell!
Fri 29 May 2020
The announcement of lockdown on 23rd March 2020 certainly hasn’t had a negative impact on the number of enquiries we have been receiving. If anything, demand has grown from potential buyers looking to purchase in a rural area. We have received numerous emails and calls from purchasers wanting to relocate to a rural spot due to the current pandemic. The current crisis may also speed up some people’s escape to the country, people who were perhaps thinking of retiring or relocating to Mid-Wales in a year or two may well amend their timescale to move even sooner.
The current pent up demand for properties in our region certainly suggests the market will take off once the lockdown restrictions in Wales are eased, and viewings can take place again. We currently have potential buyers wanting to view approximately two thirds of our available stock, through the Welshpool office, which highlights how keen potential purchasers are to move this way, so now is an excellent time to think about selling. The next announcement by the First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford, is due on Thursday 18th June 2020
when we may be given a date for starting to visit properties and conducting viewings again. If you are hoping to sell in 2020, now would be the time to talk to us about your requirements and selling needs? We can provide you with a desk top valuation and discuss a marketing package suitable for your property, which will allow us to move quickly and get your property on the market once lockdown restrictions are eased.
No one knows what the future holds and if unemployment levels rise later in the year then this could have a serious impact on the property market.
To capitalise on the current demand, now is the time to act. If you are thinking of selling then please call us at the Welshpool office on 01938 531000 or contact your local McCartneys office as we will all be delighted to help!
