Kington Store Report 9th January 2018
Sat 9 January 2016
McCartneys report a good entry of store cattle at Kington on Tuesday 9th January 2018 for their January sale.
We had a mixed entry in quality terms of store cattle at Kington, which sold to a good trade which is underpinned by reasonably good fat cattle prices. The store cattle met a good firm trade with the best sorts selling to an excellent trade. There was a good contingent of buyers looking for all types of cattle for their requirements. The ages of the cattle ranged from 14 to 27 months and weights from 380kg to 620kg.
All cattle forward sold to a very good trade with a good following of buyers and more could have been sold at these good prices. The well-bred and good confirmation cattle which were farm assured sold to premium prices and sold up to £2.40ppk for a 20 month old British Blue x steer from JT Jones and Sons which made £1270. The super market spec cattle sold to premium prices with a very good trade throughout the sale on all sorts.
