McCartneys report a smaller seasonal entry of store cattle at Kington on Tuesday 12th June 2018 for their June sale. We had a good entry of store cattle and feeding cows which sold to an exceptional trade on all types forward.
There was a good contingent of buyers for the number of cattle entered who were looking for all types of cattle and we achieved a 100% clearance. The store cattle trade continues to remain firm on all types and particularly the better quality types. The ages of the cattle ranged from 13 to 31 months and weights from 380kg to 600kg. The well-bred and good confirmation cattle which were farm assured and would hit supermarket specs sold to premium prices and these sold up to £2.72ppk for 14 month old 380kg Charolais x steers from RT Sankey & Co which made £1035 per head.
