McCartneys LLP Survey department secured Listed Building Consent for alterations and repairs proposed to a Grade II listed 16th century timber framed farmhouse. Listed buildings have protection by law against unauthorised alterations affecting their special architectural and historic character.
Alterations authorised include window repairs, part replacement, part reversion of modern day poorly executed external alterations. Works also include the installation of internal wall insulation system which has been carefully designed to be sympathetic to the historic fabrics of the building.
McCartneys surveyed the property, established sympathetic solutions to the building and formed proposals aligning with Historic England’s expectations and strict stipulations. McCartneys prepared survey drawings, specifications and detailed supporting information in support of the application.
The listed building application for consent was prepared and submitted to the council by Steven Horne whom covers Herefordshire and the surrounding counties working from the Survey department, at McCartneys Kington and Hereford office.
