The Longhorn Cattle Society’s Annual Spring Show & Sale at Worcester again proved to be a resounding success and continues to underline the breed’s popularity and strong following with a packed sale ring and keen competition throughout. That competition element resulted in a new breed record for a Senior bull when “Aberdeen Nik” from Graham Lenox who had made a long trip from Aberdeen sold at 5,400gns. The two year old bull had won Male and Reserve Overall Champion in the preceding show and was secured by D. Howden, Ludgershall, Buckingham. Mr Howden a strong supporter of the breed also purchased the Female and Overall Champion “Blackden Mint” an in calf cow from Phil Robinson’s herd at 2,500gns and the First and Reserve Female Champion “Treverton Nettle” a maiden heifer from Heard & Towers at 3,550gns.
