STORE CATTLE - 1137 A fantastic day in terms of numbers and trade, with 1137 head of cattle forward with a virtual clearance.
BREEDING STOCK: plenty of interest in the cows and calf’s on offer, with a big crowd of buyers all keenly bidding. More cows and calf’s needed for the next sale on 27th April.
FEEDING BULLS: One of the biggest entries of feeding bulls ever. Extra buyers had travelled to compete for the animals on offer. The entry consisted of some excellent suckled and a large number of dairy types. Bulls topped at £1180.00 or 259.0p/kg to an average of £883.00 or 209.0p/kg. A good entry of bulls needed for the 27th April.
FEEDING HEIFERS: A large entry of all types and sorts with feeding and grazing men competing from start to finish for the heifers on offer. Heifers topped at £1180.00 or 292.0p/kg to an average of £817.00 or 197.0p/kg. The entry consisted of a large number of native types. More needed for the next sale on 27th April.
STEERS: A cracking entry of steers met with a ring packed full of buyers. As with the heifers men were competing for feeding and grazing steers alike. Steers topped at a whopping £1355.00 or 284.0p/kg to an average of £960.00 or 210.0p/kg. Native types are being well competed for with the premiums paid by some supermarkets. More of these needed each and every sale. Next sale 27th April.
