STORE CATTLE – 407
FEEDING COWS: Once again this section keeps growing with more buyers looking for feeding cows. These topped at £1,040.00 or 186.0p/kg to an average of £740.00 or 130.0p/kg. More feeding/grazing cows needed for the next sale on Friday 9th March.
FEEDING BULLS: Another super show of feeding bulls with some really good runs of suckled bulls on offer. Bulls peaked at £1100.00 or 313.0p/kg to an average of £882.00 or 215.0p/kg. More bulls needed for the next sale on 9th March. Please phone Ludlow market 01584 872251 to enter.
HEIFERS: Strong Belgian Blue and Limousin heifers had a spring following with buyers looking for heifers to bull later on. Young suckled beef heifers again had their own following once again being passed back from the fat ring. Heifers reached £1145.00 or 253.0p/kg to an average of £780.00 or 192.0p/kg. As the season gets into full swing more heifers needed for the next sale on 9th March.
STEERS: As with the heifers there were two sets of buyers present. Those looking for strong yarding sorts and younger grazing types. Steers topped at £1155.00 or 257.0p/kg to an average of £922.00 or 201.0p/kg. Many more steers needed to meet current demand. The next sale is on 9th March.
