Ludlow Store Report 8th December 2017
Fri 8 December 2017
457 Heads forward for the first sale in December. The entry was a little reduced due to the bad weather. Having said this, buyers travelled and cattle were a good trade. The recent S.F.P. hitting banks certainly have given the farming cattle an edge.
FEEDING COWS Some good feeding cows on offer peaking at £1125pph. or £1.49ppk, more needed for the upcoming sale.
FEEDING BULLS Still a flying trade on all types. Good continental sorts the most sort after. Prices reached £1180pph or £3.10ppk to average £7725pph or £2.05ppk. More needed for the next sales.
FEEDING HEIFERS All types had found another gear with S.F.P. helping smaller sorts and the finished trade stimulating the feeders. Prices reached £1245pph or £2.57ppk to average £800pph or £1.86ppk. More numbers required for the next sale.
FEEDING STEERS An entry with a high percentage of dairy and natives, all of which found new homes. The steers topped at £1195pph or £2.23ppk. More needed for the next sales.
