MCCARTNEYS PLANT, MACHINERY, FIR AND POULTRY SALE SATURDAY 23rd FEBRUARY 2013
McCartney’s report an excellent start to 2013 for their first sale of the year held at The Beech sale field, Brimfield, Ludlow, Shropshire on Saturday last the 23rd February 2013
We had an excellent entry of Plant and Machinery together with a busy fir and poultry section. The sale was attended by a large crowd of people from a wide area. The trade through all sections of the sale was strong and the 200 lots of new tools and the poultry were of particular interest to sale goers.
Sale prices were as follows,
Poultry & Fir Section
There was a good entry for the time of year which sold to a large enthusiastic crowd.
Rabbits sold to £5 per head and to average £3, Guiney Pigs sold to £5 per head and to average £3, Laying hens sold to £17.50 per head and averaged £11, Cockerels sold to £5 and to average £2.50, Ducks sold to £15 per head and averaged £12. There was also a good selection of poultry equipment which sold to a good trade.
Small Tools & Workshop Equipment
There was an excellent selection of small tools and work equipment which received a good amount of interest and sold to a good trade. Brooms sold to £12, Trailer lighting boards to £12, Boxes of gloves to £20, Tarpaulins to £13, Jockey Wheels to £15, Axes to £13, Boxes of nails & bolts to £15, Socket sets to £50, Paint to £12 per can, Welders to £50, Air Tools to £35, Drills to £25, Spanners, Screw drivers & Pliers sets to £20. A large selection of other work shop, garden, yard and house hold tools sold to a good trade.
Timber Section
We had a large entry of a variety of good quality sawn timber which was sort after by sale goers and again sold to a strong trade. Sawn timber sold to £58 per lot for roof perlins
Agricultural & General Machinery, Vehicles & Equipment.
We also had a good show of agricultural machinery and equipment which sold to a large crowd and at a strong trade.
Lamb adopters sold to £175, Oil tanks to £60, Tyres & Wheels to £65, Lawn Mowers to £100, Chainsaws to £100, Hedge Cutters to £50, Old batteries to £8, Car trailers to £150, IBCs to £35, Sheep races to £395, sheep & Pig feeders to £20, Metal Plate and angle iron to £40, Timber winch £345, Shear grabs to £140, Cement Mixers to £150, Amazon seed drill £700, Frazer ditcher £400, Snow blower, £265, Kawasaki Quad bike £720, Fertilizer spreaders to £100, Horse box £95, Caravans to £50, Chain harrows to £230, Tarrup feed box £250, Manitou Loader £4250
McCartneys hold their plant, machinery, poultry & fir sales at The Beech, Brimfield, Ludlow, Shropshire on the last Saturday of each month and our next sale which we invite your entries for will be held on Saturday 30th March 2013 commencing at 11am with the poultry and fir section.
