McCartneys Help Dragons Find New Den

Gymnasts at Mid-Wales based Maldwyn Dragons Gymnastic Club have a new home to call their own thanks to help from McCartneys. For the last seven years classes have been limited to Fridays and Saturdays only with a waiting list in excess of 80 children (some waiting longer than 18 months) but now the ‘Dragons’ have moved to a purpose equipped unit at 14, Mochdre Industrial Estate, Newtown.

“Finding new premises of sufficient size and suitable to convert to a gymnastic facility has been a long and difficult process,” says Head Coach Julia Rees.  “The search and successful securement of a lease-hold property has taken well over a year but finally our patience and determination has paid off thanks to the help of McCartneys Commercial Department”

British Gymnastics is a sport gaining in popularity in part due to the recent success of both male and female artistic gymnasts and now there is a flag ship facility in the heart of Powys.  The official opening will take place during the Autumn, however, for the club’s 240 members classes are now on offer six days a week including; artistic gymnastics, cheer-leading, trampolining, free style gymnastics, adult classes, pre-school sessions and ‘Funtastic’ holiday camps.
