Modern Agricultural Building Successfully Converted into a Dwelling

Fri 19 March 2021

McCartneys LLP planning and survey department have obtained permission where prior approval (Under Part Q Legislation) is not required for the change of use of the modern agricultural building into a residential dwelling on an agricultural holding near Bromyard.

The building was a concrete and timber frame former piggery, which is no longer suitable for the purpose of modern farming methods, instead alternative uses are often sort. The new dwelling now will help provide additional income to the farm which will help provide improved long term financial security.

The application was undertaken and submitted to the council by Geraint Jones working from the Kington Office of McCartneys. The application was submitted as a permitted development part Q application for the conversion of agricultural buildings to a residential dwelling. The conversion provided a two bedroom dwelling over one floor. The application complied with all the criteria required for the permitted development application and was therefore supported by the local council.

If you have any projects which you would like to discuss further, please contact Geraint Jones on 01544 230316 or geraint.jones@mccartneys.co.uk.
