Phipps & Pritchard with McCartneys Property Auction Report

Mon 21 March 2016

We are delighted to report on the success of our Spring Auction at The Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel on Tuesday evening of last week. The atmosphere was more akin to a sporting event.

Two of the properties entered for the auction had been sold prior to the evening which left numbers 7 & 9 Galahad Way, Stourport on Severn as the focus of what turned out to be a most exciting sale.

Four independent parties competed in active bidding, the successful purchasers being frustrated by a very near to the end late fresh bidder, which made the sale one of the most exciting that I have seen for some time.

With a guide price of £250,000 - £300,000 being exceeded with a final bid of £307,000 being rewarded with the auctioneers drop of the hammer, the delight in the bidders face was clear for all the room to see.

Where we have the opportunity to offer appropriate properties for sale by auction, such results really do confirm that this is one route that, if identified and recommended to be appropriate for the sale of a property, can produce a transparent transaction both pleasing to the vendors and the purchasers.

The atmosphere and drama that a well-run auction can produce still excites me. We have been running property auction sales for generations. If you feel that you have a property that may be suited to sale by Public Auction, then our next sale is set for Tuesday 7th June 2016.
