Successful Basic Payment Scheme Meeting

Ludlow Livestock Market was the venue on Wednesday 4th February for a Basic Payment Scheme joint meeting between South Shropshire National Farmers Union and McCartneys LLP.

 

McCartneys and South Shropshire National Farmers Union held a joint meeting to update farmers of the forthcoming Basic Payment Scheme. The meeting attracted approximately 130 farmers from the Shropshire and surrounding counties, who attended for an update on the Basic Payment Scheme. The meeting was chaired by Gareth Wall of McCartneys LLP and presentations on the Basic Payment Scheme were received from Helen Cork, Shropshire’s County Advisor for the National Farmers Union and Roger Davies of The Rural Payments Agency at Reading (pictured above), together with Phillip Blackman-Howard of McCartneys LLP.

The meeting ran from 2 to 4pm and farmers were given presentations on the new Basic Payment Scheme and the online claiming process.   There was also a lengthy questions and answers session from the audience, where questions on the new Basic Payment Scheme were answered  by representatives from McCartneys LLP, National Farmers Union and the Rural Payments Agency.  

The meeting and update were extremely well received by the audience and delivered an up to date account of the new Basic Payment Scheme claiming process.

Gareth Wall of McCartneys LLP stated that the meeting was extremely well attended and the presentations were very informative.  The audience were pleased to receive a sensible and practical update of the Basic Payment Scheme claiming process.
