As with most medium to large companies nowadays, the IT infrastructure and technology used is at the heart of running the business and we here at McCartneys are no exception.
Take our Fine Art & Antiques department at our Head Office in Ludlow for example. The team from here not only specialise in client valuations for inheritance tax, insurance or family division purposes, they also have a dedicated room to conduct monthly live auctions of house clearances, fine art, antiques and household effects.
Even though we are dealing with items from the past, we use modern day technology to reach potential purchasers all around the world. All of our items for sale are photographed and are uploaded with their descriptions onto two mainstream dedicated auction websites and therefore are viewable by anybody around the globe with an internet connection and web browser.
On the day of the auction the technology we use enables purchasers wherever they are to watch and ‘live internet bid’ on any items offered for sale. We have purchasers from all around the country and abroad buy from us online and even as far away as Beijing.
Using this type of technology in the company means that we can still compete with the big auction houses without the need to be situated in the middle of the big city and therefore offer a fantastic service to our clients to maximise the potential value of their items for auction. For more information on the services that we offer from the Portcullis Auction Room in Ludlow, then please call Lauren Hall (Office Manager) or Daniel Fielder (Expert Valuer) on 01584 878822, who will be happy to help answer your questions or alternatively visit The Portcullis Auction Room page to learn more.
