Traditional Barn Complex Successfully Converted into a Two Dwellings

Wed 28 November 2018

McCartneys LLP planning and survey department have obtained full planning approval for the change of use of the traditional barn complex into a two residential dwellings on the English/Welsh borders on behalf of private clients.

With many of the older agricultural buildings no longer fit for purpose with modern farming methods alternative uses are often sort. The new dwellings now will help provide additional income to the farm which will help provide improved long term financial security.

The application was undertaken and submitted to the council by Lewis Price working from the Kington Office of McCartneys. The conversion involved the retention of the traditional beams and trusses within the barn which will provide features within the dwellings. The local council were keen to support the change of use of the building as it was no longer suitable for modern agricultural purposes. The conversion will help ensure the buildings future is safeguarded.
