Woodland Site Granted Full Planning Permission for 4 Log Cabins

Wed 2 May 2018

McCartneys LLP planning and survey department have obtained full planning approval for the erection of 4 log cabins in woodland near to Builth Wells.

The scheme sees the approval of 4 log cabins all located in a woodland setting, with a new access road which goes over three small streams to access the site. The scheme was carefully undertaken to ensure that minimal natural wildlife will be affected, with the cabins sited in natural clearings and with the road layout carefully considered to minimise any impact.

The 4 cabins are all approved as holiday accommodation and cannot be used as a person’s main register, however, we were pleased to obtain permission for our client for cabins which can be occupied all year long.

The scheme complied under the old Powys UDP, however it would also comply under the new Powys Local Development Plan under Tourism, with the scheme part of farm diversification. Powys are keen to support these types of applications with the additional income that tourism brings to the local area.

The application was undertaken and submitted to the council by Geraint Jones working from the Newtown Office of McCartneys. If you have any projects which you would like to discuss further then please contact Geraint Jones on 01686 623123 or geraint.jones@mccartneys.co.uk
