Sat 5 May 2018

The British Simmental Cattle Societies Annual Show and Sale at Worcester recorded a very creditable 88% clearance on Bulls which saw the averages up £287 on last year at £3,097 and a straight 100% clearance on Females.

Top call of the day went to C H Evans & Sons, second prize Bull – Wroxall Happy Chappy – a polled Bull by Wroxall Cocker-Leeky-Soup out of Wroxall Buttercup-Patience from their Warwickshire based herd and secured by C M Mercer, Leominster, Herefordshire at 5,000 gns.

The Storer-smith prefix enjoyed a brisk and competitive following with Storer-smith Heart Throb a two year old son of Lisglass Barnabus selling at 3,700 gns to L E Humphreys & Sons, Maidstone, Kent.
That price was closely followed at 3,600 gns for Alchester Heartbreaker a half- brother to the 2016 Worcester Champion from J Shouler, Bicester, Oxon and taken by Trustees of Portman Farm, Peterchurch, Leominster, Herefordshire.
