McCartneys Planning and Survey Department undertake a wide range of projects from initial conception, through to handing over keys on a completed property. We are pleased to showcase several of the projects we have been involved in, to show the variability in both project overview, location and expertise undertaken. 

New Commercial Building – Ludlow, Shropshire

Project – Derwent House, Ludlow, Shropshire

Initial Instruction – Undertake architectural design services for a new 2 storey office block to be located within Ludlow Eco Park.

Key Points – Building to be designed to BREEAM Excellent or above. Site to include access road to further development plot in future.

McCartneys Key Roles – Undertake architectural design services, Coordinate with consultants, Submit and obtain both Planning and Building Regulations Approval. Undertake Project Management, including Project Administration, Specifications and Schedules of Work.

Project outcome – Building designed and built to BREEAM excellent, within client’s timescale and budget.

Renovation and Extension of a Domestic Building – Bockleton, Tenbury Wells

Project – Grafton Cottage, Nr Tenbury Wells

Initial Instruction – Undertake architectural design services to renovate the existing cottage and design a new extension to provide appropriate internal living space.

Key Points – Building to be renovated and extended to provide indoor bathroom, larger kitchen, and an extra bedroom. Building unable to be connected to electricity grid due to high cost, alternative options to be researched.

McCartneys Key Roles – Undertake architectural design services, research into and liaise with consultants regarding off grid solutions. Obtain Planning and Building Regulations Approval. Undertake Project Management, including Project Administration, Specifications and Schedules of Work.

Project Outcome – Building extended and renovated to a high standard and successfully completed with an off grid design. Building completed within clients timescale and budget.

Refurbishment - Talgarth

Project – New House, Talgarth

Initial Instruction – Provide advice in regard to renovating the building to bring the building up to modern standards.

Key Points – Large portions of the building not visible due to plant growth. Building not been attended to for a large number of years.

McCartneys Key Roles – Undertake architectural design services, Obtain Building Regulation Approval, Undertake Project Management, including Project administration, specifications and Schedules of Work.

Project Outcome – Building renovated to a high standard. Building completed within clients timescale and budget.

Replacement Dwelling – Churchstoke, Shropshire

Project – Brampton View, Shropshire

Initial Instruction – Undertake architectural design services to for a replacement dwelling, garage and agricultural building within the site curtilage.

Key Points – Existing building is in a poor structural state of repair, with cost of repairs exceeding value of dwelling. Site is located adjacent to an English Heritage protected monument.

McCartneys Key Roles – Undertake architectural design services, Coordinate with consultants, Submit and obtain Planning Approval and Building Regulations Approval.

Project Outcome – Planning and Building Regulations Approval granted. Clients happy with high standard of design within drawings.
