Abergavenny Auction Success

Thursday night of last week saw a packed auction room at The Bear Hotel in Crickhowell with Malps cottage and two lots of land being offered for sale. This was an auction of a very special property situated on the slopes of the Blorenge mountain, Abergavenny.

Bidding was strong on all three lots with good demand being shown all round. Competition was particularly fierce on lot 1 (Malps cottage with 2.3 acres) with numerous bidders fighting it out until the hammer fell at £229,000.

Lot 2 comprised of 7.5 acres of upland pasture that was in need of some improvement works. Lot 3 extended to 24.5 acres of upland pasture. Demand was also strong for the land.

Bidders came from far and wide with many travelling from the south east and south west of England. Local interest was also very strong.
