Brecon Market Fatstock Report Tuesday 10th July 2018
Tue 10 July 2018
The weather has certainly affected red meat sales and this week the lambs have fallen below £2/kg.
It is regrettable for farmers considering the weather we have suffered in 2018, however our trade was as strong as anywhere with marked premium for quality lambs which topped at 206.5p/kg and £92.93. Every buyer was in attendance but on a falling trade every firm is worried they will be cheaper tomorrow. So with an average of 191.5p/kg for the standards and an overall average of 187.5p/kg which was 3p up on Mondays National average it can be confirmed that every lamb was sold on what the market could give!
