A wonderful yard of cattle which was made up of several tremendous Charolais cattle alongside some dairy bred types and also Hereford cross cattle which are not typical to Brecon Market.

However, the buyers came for everything we had on offer and the trade and prices far exceeded recent reports. There was a staggering demand for well fleshed and well-bred cattle as buyers have been short of stores since June and this sale marked the first good entry anywhere.

Fat prices are improving but our prices on Friday would still offer a premium and the averages of 220p/kg for steers and 215p/kg for heifers to include several Hereford cross cattle from dairy herds and mainly strong stores would be an exceptional trade.
