Busy and successful year for McCartneys LLP Planning and Survey Department

A busy year for the planning and survey department at McCartneys in 2017, and a highly successful one to.  A year which has seen the submission of 69 planning applications to 11 different local planning authorities, ranging from the Welsh Coast to the Midlands, down to South Wales.

A year which has seen 54 planning approvals including a successful planning appeal to the planning inspectorate, yet only 3 refusals on 3 contentious applications and 3 withdrawals on technical counts. In addition with a further 20 applications still in the system awaiting decision, it looks like a busy start to 2018.

The range of applications has also been diverse this year, with the applications including, householder extensions, erection of agricultural buildings, new dwellings, the conversion of traditional agricultural buildings and listed building and conservation area consent. Even large sites involving multi houses schemes of either outline planning, barn conversions and full planning consent.

The department has followed on from many of the successful planning approvals, with the development of the projects into a building regulations submission, and with a further 14 jobs taken forward into project management and contract administration.

The year has included the submission of 23 pre planning applications, many of which have been taken forward to full planning applications, all of which help gain the client useful insight prior to investing significant cost into the scheme.

2017 has seen planning and survey department undertake 101 Homebuyers Surveys or Building Surveys throughout the McCartneys LLP patch and beyond, on a wide range of properties to help assist prospective purchasers with their final decision.

The department has been involved in the undertaking of Energy Performance Certificates for properties for both sale and rental, with 404 Domestic and 15 Commercial Energy Assessments undertaken.
