Farmyard Redevelopment Scheme Granted Full Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for 5 Dwellings

Mon 17 February 2020

McCartneys LLP planning and survey department have obtained full planning approval and listed building consent for the redevelopment of a farmyard at a rural village location in Herefordshire.

A farmyard redevelopment scheme was undertaken which included, the demolition of a range of modern agricultural buildings, the retention of a Granary, and the erection of 5 new dwellings. The site received positive appraisal from the council during the original submission, however involved the complete redesign of the building layout on the site following detailed consultations with the planning officer and the local conservation officer to ensure the success of the application.

The end scheme was heavily influenced by the conservation officer who wished the site to represent the 1884 historic maps for the area due to the presence of the adjacent listed farmhouse. The local council and parish were keen to support the planning application with the site providing houses to the local area and providing an improvement in the appearance of the local area.

The application was undertaken and submitted to the council by Geraint Jones and Lewis Price working from the Kington Office of McCartneys. If you have any projects which you would like to discuss further then please contact Geraint on 01544 230316 or geraint.jones@mccartneys.co.uk.
