Ffrwd Top Notch lives up to his name selling for 22,000gns at Worcester Charollais Premier Sale on Saturday 30th June 2018

Sat 30 June 2018

A ram born and bred in Anglesey by Dewi Evans, Ffrwd Top Notch, topped the national Charollais sheep sale at Worcester market, with McCartneys auctioneer Clive Roads striking the hammer down at 22,00gns to David Roberts, Shropshire, and Janett Corbett, Worcestershire. Reared outside day and night since the first week of January, the ram lamb is sired by Edstaston Sotogrande and a home bred Ffrwd dam. Edstaston Sotogrande was purchased at the 2017 sale for 4,000gns, jointly owned by the Ffrwd and Wedderburn flock. The sale of Ffrwd Top Notch has become the second highest price paid for a Charollais. A second lamb bred by the same sire, Ffrwd Tyrone sold at 6,200gns to a collective of Welsh buyers, Adrian Davies, Justin Evans, Tim Pritchard and David Curran.
