Kington Fat Sheep Report Thursday 27th September 2018

Thu 27 September 2018

McCartneys of Kington report an entry of 1249 sheep on Thursday last the 27th of September.

The lamb trade has remained fairly level over the past week but the better meated ewes have seen a lift in prices. There are still a number of leaner sheep being marketed in the lamb and cull ewe sections, which is affecting the trade.

There are a lot of lambs coming out of Scotland and Northern England at present, which is not helping the trade in the West Midlands and Wales region. There was good demand in all sections as long as the sheep were meat from a number of buyers.
