Kington Fat Sheep Report Thursday 4th October 2018
Thu 4 October 2018
McCartneys of Kington report an entry of 845 sheep on Thursday last the 4th October 2018
The lamb trade has firmed greatly between Wednesday and Thursday markets mainly due to less lambs being marketed nationally over the past week due to the easing prices. Cull sheep also have seen an uplift in price particularly if they were well meated.
There are a still a lot of lambs and cull ewes coming out of Scotland and Northern England at present, which is not helping the trade in the West Midlands and Wales region. There was good demand in all sections, which was a welcome surprise.
