Market continuing to strengthen

Fri 11 April 2014

The RICS' reported yesterday that the property market is continuing to strengthen with the average price for a home across the UK is now over £250,000.

They are predicting that house prices will continue to rise by an average of 6% a year over the next six years. Price rises in London do of course distort the figures we hear reported.

In our area sales levels are at the highest they have been for over 6 years but we have yet to see prices rising. The feeling is that given the lack of supply of property coming on to the market this will cause a spike in prices. Nationally overall the picture seems to be that prices have reached the levels they were in 2007 before the crash.

This is good news for vendors, demand is strong and people feel confident once again that property is a sound investment. Stock levels are a concern, so if you are thinking of selling there couldn’t be a better time.
