McCartneys Livestock Markets - Coronavirus Latest Update

Fri 20 March 2020

All weekly and regular sales of primestock and sales of store & breeding stock across our markets will continue as scheduled at present.

To enable us to keep markets going we have been asked to restrict access.  Therefore vendors are respectively asked to drop livestock and speak to an auctioneer or clerk if they want to leave instructions.

We are happy to lot, sort and handle all livestock for you.

If vendors wish to enter they must stay in areas away from buyers and staff.  They are encouraged to wear protective gloves to protect their own safety.

All paperwork is to be handed to staff and access to the market office is restricted to staff only.

Also please note:

  • Only those buying should attend – onlookers and the public should not attend.
  • Any person over the age of 70 should not attend sales – If you are over 70 and need help getting livestock to market, please call us for help.
  • Any person that is knowingly ill, showing symptoms of the virus, or has an underlying health issue should not attend sales.
  • Children should not attend sales.
  • Any lady that is knowingly pregnant should not attend sales.
  • Market Canteens will only offer a Takeaway service – if at all.
