Planning Permission Gained to Convert a Traditional Barn into an Unrestricted Residential Dwelling

Fri 29 May 2020

Architectural Plans 2McCartneys LLP Planning and Survey department have obtained full planning approval for the change of use of a traditional part brick, part stone, part timber barn into an unrestricted residential dwelling near to New Radnor.

The proposal converts a traditional barn into a two bedroom dwelling with limited external alterations other than repairs required. The proposal provides one ground floor and one first floor bedroom, but also has two dedicated bat lofts provided due to 3 different bat species identified by an ecologist during their surveys, this also means that an EPS licence will be required before carrying out any works, along with other restrictions.

The proposal received positive appraisal from the council during the submission, but it did require a significant amount of information due to the ecology issues raised.

The application was undertaken and submitted to the council by Geraint Jones working from the Kington Office of McCartneys.  If you have any projects which you would like to discuss further contact Geraint Jones on 01544 230316, 078752 22835 or geraint.jones@mccartneys.co.uk.
