Planning Permission Gained to Convert a Traditional Barn into an Unrestricted Residential Dwelling

Fri 29 November 2019

McCartneys LLP planning and survey department have obtained full planning approval for the change of use of a traditional part brick, part timber barn into an unrestricted residential dwelling, together with the formation of a new access.

With many of the older agricultural buildings no longer fit for purpose with modern farming methods alternative uses are often sort. The new dwelling now will help provide additional income to the farm which will help provide improved long term financial security. The conversion involved the retention of the traditional beams and trusses within the barn which will provide features within the dwellings.  The conversion will help ensure the buildings future is also safeguarded. The proposal included for a new access driveway to the property which significantly improves the access safety to all road users.

The application was undertaken and submitted to the council by Geraint Jones working from the Newtown Office of McCartneys.  If you have any projects which you would like to discuss further contact Geraint Jones on 01686 623123 or geraint.jones@mccartneys.co.uk.
